“Steering a course through the waves” represents the sea in all its power and beauty, where the route to be followed is not just a sequence of geographical coordinates but a journey of the soul that becomes one with the sea.
The work represents the stormy sea and the route that leads to a safe harbour. The sculpture has the form of a large wave. On closer inspection, one can make out smaller waves, eddies and foam, and from the side a route that passes through the wave to take the intrepid sailor home.
